In just three years, Canadian brand Ginger Goat has propelled to fame thanks to Kris and Natacia, the husband-and-wife duo behind it all
"Lead sauce slinger" Kris Ronan and his wife Natacia founded Ginger Goat in 2021 and only three months later their Original Hot Sauce appeared on Hot Ones season 15, which featured the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lorde and Matt Damon.
Ginger Goat proudly makes its sauces in the Waterloo Region of Ontario, Canada. They believe in putting flavour above all and insist on using natural ingredients with no added thickeners, preservatives and excessive salts nor extracts.
The sauces feature all sorts of unique and delicious flavour combinations. In the Original Goat, there's a balanced blend of smoked pineapple, ginger and garlic, with a headbutt of Carolina reaper at the tail end. The Tropic Star, meanwhile, which starred on Hot Ones season 22, pairs mangoes with lemongrass and star anise, plus heat coming from a peach superhot pepper mash.
The brand is named after Kris’s ginger goatee. The story goes: Kris once had a heated argument with Tash's nephew who hurled the insult “ginger beard” during a board game. Kris corrected him, saying it was a goatee, to which his nephew replied: “OK then, fine, you ginger goat.”
