These are not crisps (or chips, if you’re American) as you know them! Hot Chip, a small-batch brand from the Czech Republic, makes these chilli “strips” that are all-vegan, gluten- and preservative-free. This flavour is based on the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper, one of the hottest in the world, combined with some smoked jalapenos. Add in some legumes for protein and chia seeds for added nutritional benefits, and you’ve got yourself an excellent, spicy little bite.

The brand has a range of flavours, but Smoked Scorpio is one of their hottest (apart from the Hot Chip Challenge, which we also sell at House of Habanero!). They also come wrapped in recyclable packaging for some seriously guilt-free snacking.

Ingredients

Pea flour (82%), rapeseed oil, chia seeds, sea salt, chilli smoked jalapenos (1.3%), chilli scorpion (1.3%), sugar, carrot, garlic, onion, parsnip, parsley, spice mix, yeast extract.

Tasting notes: Pepper dominant flavours, smoky mid-note, not oily, crunchy texture, instant heat that builds.

Goes well with: Eat on their own as a healthy snack or post-workout for a great source of protein.
